February 8, 2008 FONIX 7000 Hearing Aid Test System: Version 1.62 Frye Electronics is pleased to announce software version 1.62 for the 7000 Hearing Aid Test System. This is a small “bug fix” release that does not add any new features or change the user interface or RS232 protocol in any way. In software version 1.62, the method for performing real-ear spectrum analysis measurements has been improved. Previously, noise reduction averaging was performed in the time domain before the FFT(Fast Fourier Transforms) was performed. Although this method is preferred for normal measurements using the built-in test signals, it is not desirable for spectrum analysis measurements using an external input signal. In the new release, noise reduction averaging in real-ear spectrum analysis measurements will now be performed in the frequency domain (after the FFT). Coupler spectrum analysis was already using the frequency domain noise reduction averaging method, so this upgrade only affects real-ear spectrum analysis measurements. No other changes were made to the 7000 software. We are currently working on v1.63, which will contain additional bug fixes. Please contact us at support@frye.com if you would like more details. September 10, 2007 FONIX 7000 Hearing Aid Test System: Version 1.61 We are pleased to announce the release of version 1.61 on the 7000 Hearing Aid Test System. Here are a list of the most important changes and updates:
All of these updates were added as the result of direct customer input. We work hard to adapt our equipment to meet the needs of our customers. If you have any suggestions, please let us know about them! March 28, 2007 FONIX 7000 Hearing Aid Test System: Version 1.60 The FONIX 7000 is an advanced hearing aid test system for performing coupler and real-ear measurements. Its remarkable accuracy and flexibility makes it a top choice for audiologists and it continues to improve all the time. This latest software version includes expanded user default settings, improved navigation features, and the addition of the IEC 2005 automated test sequence. These updates are in addition to the real-ear Visible Speech and NAL-NL1 improvements added several months ago. An optional FONIX NOAH Module is also available. March 16, 2007 Announcing the new FONIX Integrated Probe Microphone for the 7000 Hearing Aid Analyzer. It's smaller, lighter, and more adjustable. March 1, 2007 NEWSubscribe to our email lists If you would like to receive announcements of FONIX product upgrades and other related news, we invite you to subscribe to one or more of our e-mail lists. More information on email lists. January 8, 2007 The following demo units are currently available: Two FP35s at a 10% discount All discounted 7000s have been sold. One will be availble in April, and there is already have some interest in it. We have sold all of the FA-10 and FP40 demo units. October 23, 2006 Announcing version 1.51 of the FONIX 7000 Hearing Aid Test System! This new software version includes the NAL-NL1 non-linear real-ear targets and the new Visible Speech screen. The NAL-NL1 targets are an unusually complete implementation of the fitting formula that includes all available NAL-NL1 settings. Also included is a bug fix that adds target data points that are not known to be available on competing equipment. The new Visible Speech screen allows the clinician to perform a real-ear measurement using a live speech signal. The real-time response is measured as an FFT in 100 Hz intervals from 200-8000 Hz. This gives very good resolution of the response at high frequencies critical to the understanding of speech. In most cases we know who to send the upgrade to, but just in case, FONIX users should notify us where the upgrade should go and whether you prefer to get a CD version or a software upgrade.
