Using Real Ear Measurements to order hearing aids
with the FONIX 6500 series with QPII; the 6400; and the FP40 series with Probe
Here's all you do to order a completely customized hearing aid:
For Full-on Gain (FOG) Frequency Response:
- Enter the client's audiogram,
- Choose one of the programmed fitting formulas (or enter your own target insertion response),
- Choose custom real-ear measurements or "average" aided and unaided ear data (from KEMAR),
- Choose the aid type and reserve gain.
The FONIX software calculates the appropriate 2cc Coupler Full-on Gain Response (which you can modify, if desired).

Send the customized Target 2cc FOG curve (above) to the manufacturer, or choose the best match from the manufacturer's matrix catalog.
For SSPL-90:
- Simply enter the client's loudness discomfort, uncomfortable loudness, or highest comfortable levels, in dB HL.
The FONIX software calculates the appropriate 2cc Coupler SSPL-90 Response (which you can modify, if desired).

Send the customized Target 2cc SSPL 90 curve (above) to the manufacturer along with the FOG curve, or choose the best match from the manufacturer's matrix catalog.
