ANSI '92 Test Sequence
for the FONIX® 6500-CX Hearing Aid Test System
A very useful automatic Multi-Curve test sequence included in the ANSI Option.
This test conforms to the ANSI S3.42-1992 standard and is included when you order either the ANSI S3.22-1987 or S3.22-1996 test. It is an appropriate test sequence for non-linear hearing aids. In thirty seconds you see a display of four curves (50-80 dB, 40-70 dB, or 60-90 dB) and the noise input/output curve. The NSPL90 (maximum RMS output sound pressure level) and the full-on noise gain are also identified.
This test is especially useful in a clinical or office setting where clients bring in hearing aids of unknown secifications. With the ANSI '92 test sequence, this very fast test tells the user whether the aid is linear, or non-linear, whether it is a K-Amp, or whether it has active filtering. You immediately know what is going on with the client's hearing aid and can advise them accordingly.
Note to non-U.S. users:
Even if you do not normally use the ANSI test sequence, this ANSI '92 is of interest to you. As of this writing, there is no comparable standard written for the IEC and the JIS, so the best way to get this detailed information is by using the ANSI '92.
All FONIX 6500s, 6500-Cs, and 6500-CXs can be upgraded to add the ANSI '92 test sequence.
The ANSI option includes ANSI '87 and is available for the FP40 also.
