With the proliferation of newborn screening programs, more and more infants and young children are being fit with hearing aids. These children are difficult to test using standard real-ear equipment that is typically designed for testing adults. In particular, ear hooks with the real-ear microphones attached tend to be too heavy for the ear of a small child.

The Infant/Child Headband Package has been designed specifically for real-ear measurements on infants and children. It features a colorful, fully adjustable headband with straps that go both around and over the child's head. Flexible ear hooks can be attached to each side of the headband— this way, the child's head supports the weight of the ear hook and attached microphones instead of the child's ear.

Just for fun, we also include two sets of “ears” (elephant and bunny) that can also be attached to the headband. This makes the real-ear process more enjoyable for both the child and the clinician.

The Infant/Child Headband Package consists of a small headband for infants, and a slightly larger headband for small children. A matching adult headband is also included, so that the clinician can demonstrate to the child that wearing the headset is both fun and a little silly.
