Announcing FP35 Software Version 3.80

The latest software version of the FP35 hearing aid analyzer includes improvements to the Visible Speech feature that make it even easier to use. The old Visible Speech method included a series of vertical bars that indicated the minimum and maximum response of the hearing aid to the live speech signal. This method is still available. However, a new method has been added that should be even more useful to the clinician.

The new “averaging” option creates a long term average curve during the Visible Speech measurement. Whenever the short term response becomes higher than the long term response, the long term response is readjusted to account for the higher input level. This is known as a “peak program measurement” averaging, and it tends to do a better job of including short term bursts of sound (such as consonants in speech) into the curve than more conventional averaging methods.

The new FP35 software version also includes improvements to its real-ear to coupler conversions.
