When Should You Consider Using a “Special” Noise Source to Test DSP Aids?
When presenting a continuous composite noise the REAG decreases as the signal is maintained (Widex Senso). NR circuit “thinks” the signal is noise because it is continuous (“noise-like”) and not modulating “like” speech.
Can still test using the continuous signal by presenting a SHORT burst (Quick On/Off), thus not allowing the NR circuit to have a significant impact on the measure.
No need to turn off “Noise Reduction” feature.
