The Dumb terminal program is intended to provide testing
facilities for use with the ASCII mode of the audiometer. The
program has two possible command line options. The '2' option
selects operation on com port 2, and the 'P' option forces polled
mode operation bypassing the Fryers driver if it is installed.

There are two versions of the program one for MSDOS called
TERM.EXE, and one for Windows 95/NT called TERM32.EXE.

Note: the Windows version does not use the standard Windows
communications functions. You can use the standard Windows
terminal program instead if you wish. Be sure to select the
COM port you are using, and set it to 9600 baud, 1 stop bit,
no parity.

The terminal program assumes that the audiometer is currently
operating in ASCII mode. It does not attempt to switch modes.
If you need to switch the operating mode, either set the option
jumper in the appropriate position, or use the ATEST program
which allows switching operating modes on the fly (see cmd 30).

To get out of the Terminal program, press "Ctrl X" ('Ctrl' and
'X' together at the same time). Ctrl Z has the same effect.

For more information about the ASCII mode commands, see the
FASCII document.
