                                                           92.01.27 - mng

This document describes version 1.30 of the 6400 software. Some
notes are included describing changes since earlier version but
this is by no means a comprehensive list. Due to the amount of
additions made in the RS232 interface with the release of version
1.30 it is recommended that all 6400s being controlled through
the RS232 interface be upgraded to this release.

We recommend you check what options are installed on a 6400 with
the "Get Version" command rather than check the error code at
        each command.

The RS232 command set recognized by the 6400 can be divided into
two categories, the first set contains those commands recognized
at any time the 6400 issues polls, the other set changes
depending on what operating mode the 6400 is in.

The commands that are always recognized are:

        Command name Command number Notes
        -------------------------------------------------------------
        Set Keyboard Control 62 2
        Set Keycode 72 2

        Do Reset 38
        Do Error 67 2

        Get Version 28
        Get Status 33

        Get Keyboard Control 63 2

mode the 6400 is in when the command is issued.
