Fonix Flash Update Setup Program 09/07/01 -med

The Setup prgram is used to install the Flash Update
program on the computer that will be used to upgrade
the flash in the instrument.

Normally the setup program will be located on a floppy disk.
To install the update package, run the SETUP program.
If the package was sent via email, upzip it onto a floppy first.

To run the setup program, bring up the Add/Remove programs window
(located in the Control Panel folder) and select the setup
program from there. This method insures that Windows knows about
the Update package so that it can be easily removed later when
you are done with it. Alternately, you can run the Setup program
directly from the floppy disk (or where ever you put the
program).

A window will be displayed showing the source (floppy disk)
and destination (hard drive) directories. If these are not
correct, click on the Associated Browse button and select
the desired path.

When ready, click on the Install button to perform the
installation.

Upon successful completion of the installation, the Update
program will be automatically launched. If for some reason
the installation fails, the Install program will remain and
a message will be displayed indicating what the problem was.

If you do not wish to continue with the install, click on
the Cancel button to exit the program.

If files already exist on in the destination directory with the
same name as the files you are copying, you will be asked if
you want to overwrite the existing file. If you say no, the
old file will remain in the directory, if you say yes, it will
be overwritten. If you select cancel, the install will be
canceled at that point. Note that this may leave an incomplete
installation in the destination directory.
