First Time Calibration of the Colt
  6 Feb 2013 -med

The first time calibration of the Colt requires that the
Colt base unit eeproms are properly initialized.
This process only needs to be done once.
After it has been initialized you only need to do a normal calibration.

The first step is to use FastInit to initialize the EEprom
(click on the Initialize EErom button).

The next step is to bring up the ColtCal program.

The factory version of the ColtCal program is started by using a short cut to
the ColtCal program with a "F" (uppercase F) added to the command line as a
parameter. This tells the ColtCal program to enable the Factory Cal Save button.
Create a shortcut to the ColtCal program, right click on the shortcut and select
properties. In the Target field add a " F" to the end of the existing text line
(a space followed by a capital F).

Start the ColtCal program and click on the "All Default Cal" button in the Read All box.
Next click on the "Save All Cal" button in the Save All box.
This will save the default cal to the Field calibration table in the EEPROM.
Next click on the "Factory Cal" button in the Save All box.
This will save the factory cal to the Factory calibration table in the EEPROM.

The EEprom has now been initialized and is ready for normal calibration.

You should calibrate all nine calibration sections

  Left Phone
  Right Phone
  Left Insert
  Right Insert
  Bone
  Left Speaker
  Right Speaker
  Left Line
  Right Line

For the Speaker and Line calibrations, you can leave the calibration
entries at the default values, but the Calibration Info Headers need to be initialized
(Cal Date, transducer ID and CalByWho information).
This is needed so that the background calibration information (header info, retspl and maxHL)
data is loaded into the Colt unit.

When done, click on the Save All Cal and the Factory Cal buttons to save the calibration
data in the Field and Factory cal tables in the EEPROM.
